There is an outdoor themed swimming pool with water slides, jets and a jacuzzi for over 16’s only which is surrounded with a sun deck area with palms. The heated indoor swimming pool with a whirlpool is open from the 16th of September to the 15th of June. Access to Acquaplaya situated at the Playasol Spa Hotel 400 metres from this hotel is for over 18s only, except during special family hours from 10:00 to 11:30. Situated on the Costa de Almería, Roquetas de Mar features many good beaches with amenities for water sports. There are also tennis, horse riding and golf facilities: the Golf Playaserena course is 400 metres away and another 2 courses are 10 km away. Roquetas de Mar organises a multitude of cultural activities; throughout the year plays and concerts take place in the theatre and auditorium. The resort also features a lighthouse which is an exhibition hall at the moment, but every fortnight it houses painting or photography exhibitions. To the south-east of Almeria 56 km from Roquetas there is Cabo de Gata, a natural paradise with much to offer scuba divers. Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is recognised by UNESCO as one of the most beautiful and wild spaces of Andalusia. Tabernas is the only semi-dry desert in Europe where some of the most famous westerns have been filmed. It has been renovated and converted into Oasys one the most inventive theme parks in the Mediterranean. |
