Alternatively you can indulge in the world-famous Italian boutiques; the Quarter of Chiaia houses Via dei Mille and Via Calabritto, filled with numerous designer shops, including Prada, Valentino and Versace. Plebiscito Square is also a major attraction of the area, it features the Royal Palace and the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, as well as 2 bronze Equestrian statues of Ferdinando I and Cano III, by Antonio Canova and his Neapolitan pupil Cali. At night, the squares begin to fill up around midnight with people heading to the lively bars and clubs. |
