Close to the centre of the city and the main square, the guest house is well-placed for exploring this picturesque city. The painter Egon Schiele once lived in Český Krumlov and today visitors can admire his work in a museum dedicated to him. The city’s main attraction, however, is the enormous Krumlov Castle, which is the second largest in the Czech Republic. The hotel is able to arrange the hire of boats, kayaks, canoes, bicycles and cycling gear for guests and is happy to provide information, help and advice on excursions and events in the surrounding area. Krumlov Castle is unusually large for a town of Krumlovs size; and, in the Czech Republic, only Prague castle is larger. The castle also contains a preserved Baroque theatre which was completed in 1766. The theatre is still complete with original stage machinery, scenery and props. Krumlov also has a museum dedicated to the painter Egon Schiele, who lived in the town. Ten kilometers from Krumlov is one of the Czech Republic’s oldest monasteries, Zlatá Koruna (The Golden Crown). About 30 km from Krumlov is the Hluboká Castle, established in the 12th century and later remodelled according to Windsor Castle in England. Krumlov is close to the Šumava National Park, the Czech Republics largest national park. The Šumava mountains lie along the border with Austria and Germany and offer a range of natural habitats - peat bogs, Alpine meadows, primeval forests, lakes, and rivers. The area is popular with walkers, cyclists, and canoeists on the Vltava. Other attractions in Český Krumlov or nearby in the surrounding area include: Castle Garden, the Revolving Theatre, the Museum of Torture, the Waxworks Museum, the Český Krumlov Regional Museum, the Graphite Mine and the Five-Petalled Rose Festival. |

Arrival by car: from Vienna / Prague: Just follow route E48/6 until the city centre of Cesky Krumlov. Leave route 6 and head straightforward onto Prazsky Most street. Cross the river and stay on Taborska street. The name of the street will change into Pobrezni street. Continue driving until you reach Sokolovska street. Turn right onto Nakladni street and immediately left onto Jachymovska street. Continue driving until you reach Sedlecka street. There you have to turn left. Immediately after that you have to turn left again onto Buchenwaldska street. When you reach Plesivecka street turn right. You have arrived at the hotel. Arrival by public transportation: Cesky Krumlov bus station is very close to the town center, therefore we strongly recommend you to take the bus ( the train station is far from the center and the train is slower ). |
