The historical old town of Bad Saeckingen was built 1100 years ago when the Irish friar St. Fridolin founded a monastery here. Particularly the market place of this monastery had become well-known and extremely popular. Today, Bad Saeckingen is equally popular as health resort and holiday destination which owns the predicate “Therapeutic Bath” and numerous leisure facilities. The so-called “Trumpeter Town” is located directly on the Rhine. By passing the famous Wooden Bridge (“Holzbruecke”) – with its 200 m expansion considered to be the largest bridge in Europe – you can easily reach the neighbouring Switzerland. Bad Saeckingen is therefore an ideal starting point for your tours to Waldshut, Rheinfelden, Zurich or Basel. | |
