Farchant is situated in the lush and green valley of Loisachtal on 700 meters altitude. The huge mountain tops of Zugspitze, Alpspitze, Wetterstein-, Ester-, und Ammer mountain ranges provide a fantastic panoramic view still leaving enough space for the valley to have an impression of vastness as well. It might be exactly the vastness of the Werdenfelser Land making its citizens so open, child caring, animal friendly and hospital. However the immediate vicinity to Garmisch without stress of a small city make Farchant as lovely as it is. |

Arrival by car: from Munich - motorway A 95 - direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen; exit Eschenlohe on the main street No. 2 - before tunnel entry turn right, direction Farchant (3 km before Garmisch-Partenkirchen). from Augsburg - Schongau (B 17) - Oberammergau (B 23) - Oberau - Farchant. Arrival by train: train Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen (timetable NR. 960) – exit train station Garmisch-Partenkirchen – to arrive at Farchant, use then the local bus Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Farchant (approx. all half hour) or use RVO bus line Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Oberammergau or use a taxi (at train station Garmisch-Partenkirchen) to centre of Farchant approx. 4 km. Arrival by plane: Airport Munich - airport main train station - use the Train direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen (see arrival by train).
