The Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center has taken a fresh approach to conference dining. All food is freshly prepared, so guests can enjoy three well-rounded meals a day without compromising their busy meeting schedules. Hermann Schatzers career began in 1983 with an apprenticeship at Austrias Hotel Astoria, located just a few steps away from where his mentor, Wolfgang Puck, also got his start in cooking. Three years later, Chef Schatzer graduated from the Culinary Institute in Innsbruck, Austria, and over the next six years held positions as Tournant Chef and Garden Manager Chef in prestigious five-star hotels throughout Austria and Switzerland. In 1990, he moved to the United States, quickly gaining valuable experience as a private chef in Palm Beach, Florida. He soon moved on to the Breakers, a beautiful, five-star, five-diamond resort where high quality and consistency standards are a must. In his seven-year tenure with the Breakers, he held the positions of Area Chef and Main Kitchen Chef, as well as Executive Chef at the propertys country club. In 2001, Chef Schatzer accepted the Executive Chef position at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott, managed by Crestline Hotels and Resorts. In May 2003, he transferred to the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in Atlanta, where he will continue to draw inspiration from a combination of diverse flavors, scents and textures in an effort to anticipate and satisfy every guests expectations. |

Finding us is easy: Shuttle service from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport to the hotel is available. The Atlanta Link picks up at the hotel at :15 and :45 past the hour, every hour from 6:00 am – 1:00 am, 7 days a week. All service after 7:00 pm requires advance reservations. Traveling on I-85/75 North (I-85 from the airport): Take I-85 North to the 10th/14th street exit (#250). Continue straight for .1 mile on Williams Street and turn right onto 10th Street. Travel .1 mile and turn right onto Spring Street. The Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center is approximately .4 mile on the right. Traveling on I-85 South: Take I-85 South to the Techwood Drive/14th Street/ 10th Street exit (#84). Turn left on 14th Street. Travel .2 mile and turn right on Spring Street. The Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center is approximately .7 mile on the right. Traveling on I-75 South: Take I-75 South to the Techwood Drive/14th Street/ 10th Street exit (#250). Traveling on 400 South: Take GA-400 South to I-85 South and follow the directions above. Traveling on I-20: Take I-20 to I-85/75 North and follow the directions above. Via Amtrak: Start on West Peachtree Street and go .1 mile. Turn right onto Peachtree Street NE and proceed .1 mile. Turn left onto Spring Street. The Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center is approximately 1.4 miles on the right. Via North Avenue MARTA transit station: Turn right onto West Peachtree Street and go .2 miles. Turn left on 5th Street, go one block and turn left onto Spring Street. The Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center is on the right. Georgia Techs complimentary shuttle, the Tech Trolley, provides guests transportation arriving and departing from the Midtown MARTA transit station. The Tech Trolley will run 5:45 a.m. until 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at 4 minute intervals, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. |
