This small house is an excellent alternative to the large hotels in the island. It’s ideal to recover energies and take pleasure from nature all around. Situated in one of the most charming and rural places on the west side of Madeira Island, Colina da Fajã offers nine rooms all with a great view over the ocean and the surrounding forest. Restored in February 2007 to hotel, this traditional Madeira house from the beginning of the 20th-century, features: a games room; a reading room with a fireplace; an outdoor heated swimming pool (25ºC); a barbeque; and a courtesy self-service bar that allows you to sample various drinks, including regional wines and homemade liquors. After breakfast clients can use free of charge the fully equipped kitchen to make their meals or a coffee/tea. Colina da Fajã it’s placed in the middle of a walking trail, “Levada Nova”. It’s one of the major “levadas”, comes from Ribeira Brava, it passes in front of the hotel and goes until Ponta do Pargo. The hotel is open throughout the year. |

The hotel has 8 rooms and one Junior Suite, all with a splendid view on the hills of Fajã da Ovelha, with the ocean as a backdrop. Each of the rooms features: wooden ceilings and floors; a double bed, typical of the island of Madeira; private bathroom; central heating; satellite TV; broadband internet connection; and telephone. |

A generous buffet breakfast is served every morning on a long table, where you can meet other guests. The kitchen is available for guests that wish to prepare their meals or just a coffee or tea. It is equipped with microwave, fridge, oven, blender, toaster, and electric kettle. |

Looking for a more daring experience? Then try Jardim do Mar, at only 10 minutes from Colina da Fajã, very well suited for surfing. Other alternatives are angling or scuba diving in Paul do Mar. In Calheta, you can find the cultural centre Casa das Mudas, which is well worth a visit, not only because of its architecture, but for the temporary exhibitions as well. |

By Car from Madeira Airport: - Take the motorway towards Ribeira Brava. - When you arrive in Ribeira Brava, continue on the motorway towards Calheta. - At the Calheta roundabout, head towards Fajã da Ovelha. - Follow the motorway until the end, where you will see signs to Fajã da Ovelha and Porto Moniz. - Turn left towards Fajã da Ovelha. - From this point, it will take you about 5 minutes to get to the hotel. - When you arrive at the crossroads with signs to Fajã da Ovelha town centre, turn left and continue straight on towards Porto Moniz. - After 1 km, where the road takes a right turn and there are signs to Casais da Serra, you will see the last sign for Colina da Fajã (to your left). - Please drive carefully when descending the hill! - The hotel is at the bottom of the hill. |

Enjoying a privileged location, where you can experience direct contact with nature, the hotel is immersed in complete tranquillity, only broken by the murmur of the water as it flows towards the fields. Colina da Fajã is a small hotel with nine rooms, 35 minutes from Funchal and 45m from airport. The hotel is located on the southwest coast of Madeira, close to the cascades of Rabaçal and the Levada Nova trail which passes right in front of Colina da Fajã. Lovers of the beach and the sea only need to go for 15 minutes to find the golden sand of Calheta, unique for this region. If you prefer the calmer waters of a pool, the hotel recommends the natural (salt water) pools of Porto Moniz, 35 minutes away from the hotel. |

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, 30 percent of all nights will be charged.
