The restaurant overlooks the lake and St Finbarr’s Oratory on the island, and it is here that breakfast and evening dinner is served. During the day, food is served in the Tailor and Ansty Bar and sitting rooms every day except Sunday, when traditional Sunday lunch is served in the restaurant. The bar menu has lots to tempt you with. This includes fruit scones with jam and cream, homemade soup or chowder, Dingle Bay smoked salmon and prawns with honey dressing, or a warm chicken salad with roast pine nuts. Home-baking is a large part of this family-run establishment and doesnt disappoint. All breads and desserts are freshly baked in the kitchen. In the evening, dinner is served from 17:30. There are a variety of menus to suit different requirements, such as early bird, à la carte, and table dhote. The menu is well balanced and seasonally planned, based on locally sourced fresh ingredients, and prepared with great attention to detail. Katy has brought a lot of recipes from her father’s kitchen in Lahinch, where her parents, Eamonn and Rita Vaughan, ran Mr. Eamonn’s famous restaurant for many years. All of this great food is complimented by a well-chosen wine list with lots of different old and new world choices. Advice is also available. |

National Forest Park (1 km) - The National Forest Park offers many fine walks, as well as an abundance of flora and fauna. St. Finbarrs Hermitage (1 km) - St. Finbarr started his hermitage on the island in Gougane Barra Lake. The nearby island contains the ruins of St. Finbarrs hermitage, where many people come to experience the peace, tranquillity and Holiness of the place. |
